PCT, Day 13, Zero Day

This morning, Navigator prepares breakfast for us. The guys have scrambled eggs with bacon, ham, and baked beans with some meat, along with some toast. I get scrambled eggs with cheese and toast with cheese. The breakfast is delicious I usually avoid eggs due to their taste, but these scrambled eggs do not taste like "eggs". We also enjoy some leftover fruit salad from last night.

After breakfast, we clean and dry our tents, groundsheets, and sleeping pads. I take some time to work on the blog. Frostbite and Navigator walk around town while I later walk with Double Dinner to check out the outdoor shop. We stumble upon a sign pointing to a trail fair offering free pizza and drinks for hikers, courtesy of Big Agnes. Naturally, we go to get our pizza slices and something to drink.

Later, it is time to meet the mayor of Idyllwild, who is a dog named Max the III, accompanied by a vice mayor, also a dog, and they arrive in their dedicated car. It is quite amusing. In the evening, we have roasted potatoes, with a vegetarian version for me. Navigator is a good cook, and it is very enjoyable to have a good meal.

We arrange a car to pick us up on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. and to drive us back to the trailhead for the next section of our journey.
