I have to go to the hospital this morning to deliver a test kit. It has to be within a certain time. Walking would take too long, so I try to get an Uber. None are available, so I walk again. It is already very hot, although it is just 8:00 a.m.
On the way back, I stop at urgent care to get an itemized invoice for what I paid yesterday. It’s not possible. They promise to send one next week by email. Somehow, I have doubts that this will work. I try to call them later to get my test results, but as anticipated, no one answers. I write to the head nurse to send the results via email.
Later, I walk to Walmart to see the visiting optometrist. It is walk-in, and many people are already waiting. I get in line and wait. After about 2 hours, the optometrist takes me in. He is very quick. He only needs a fraction of the time that it takes in Germany to determine the status of my eyes. Seemingly, they have worsened. I get a prescription and walk next door to the optician to get my glasses ordered. They will be ready in 10 days, but I will not be here then. I have them sent to Kennedy Meadows North. I guess it will take at least 4 weeks until I get there until then my Leuko tape design just has to work!
Once the glasses are ordered, I do some of the resupply shopping and finally, at around 7, I can return to my accommodation.
