Te Araroa, Day 125

March 8, 2024, Invercargill to Bluff / Stirling Point, end of the Southern Island

I am up early, but my feet, especially the right one, haven't stopped hurting. Every step is difficult. I know I can't walk the last 35 km, but I still want to get to Bluff / Stirling Point,  to the end of the South Island.

I change my shuttle booking to take one at 8:15 to get me there.
X sends a picture from the sunrise. The walk seemed quite challenging with all the wind, rain, and lack of a clear trail.

In grey, rainy weather I hop on the Shuttle to se the end of a long walk.
At Sterling Point, the shuttle driver takes a picture with me.

I have a short walk while some rain is dripping on me, to see the opposite part of the starting point which was the Northern most point, Cape Reinga, on Mov. 05, 2023; and then I get back into the shuttle. X is there too. He completed the walk at night, in not great weather conditions. Well done!

And now it's over.

Or maybe it starts. It will take quite a while to process everything. The days went by quickly and were busy. I know that I will live through that journey step by step again, once there is some time for it.

Statistics:
125 days, 98 days of that walking. 2542,38 km
