South to North, Day 4

Monday, August 19, 2024, Krankesjön to Harlösa, 4,49 km, total km 79,68, 0:59 hrs plus Malmö walk 11,2 km, 3:58 hrs

I slept well last night. This morning, I take my time. I'm 4.5 km from the next little town, where there's a supermarket that opens at 8:00 AM, so I shouldn’t start walking before 7:00 AM.

I think about how to continue. I’m really enjoying this walk. It’s easy, and I don’t have to carry much food since there are towns nearby. Even the weather has been very pleasant. But I've been walking a lot since October—more than 4,000 km—and I feel fatigued.
I'm glad that I started walking Sweden from the southernmost point to the northernmost point, but my body needs rest and good food. I haven’t had good food in a long time.

Without further ado, I book a room in Malmö for tonight and a bus ticket for the next day. My journeys will continue, but for a while, I won’t do more than day hikes. It feels strange because part of me still wants to keep walking.

When I reach Harlösa, I don’t go to the supermarket but wait for the bus to Malmö. After arriving in Malmö, I still have 4 hours until check-in at the hotel, so I take a little walk around. It turns out to be a bit more than 11 km.

I walked from Smygehuk to Harlösa. Harlösa will be the town where I start walking again, to continue and maybe one day complete the journey from the southernmost point to the northernmost point of Sweden. Maybe.
