Monday, April 22, 2024, water cache to San Ysidro Creek, 21,7 km, total 165,64 km, 8 hrs.
I left the tent side shortly after 6 am, climbing a hill and arriving just in time for the sunrise.
This side of the desert is different again. Still dry but it looks more green.
After 16 km we reach Montezuma Valley Road and call a guy who picks up hikers to give them a lift to his shop at "Ranchita Bodega". We buy resupply for the next days, have a drink and get a picture with a fiber glass yeti statue. After that we get a ride back to the trail. I had to take a picture of the drivers door.
Continuing on the other side of the road the scenery changes again and we walk through a lush valley.
We find an idyllic space with a creek where we set up camp for the night.
