PCT, Day 26

May 10, 2024, Wrightwood, Zero day

In the morning, I ask Jeff if I can stay another night, and he agrees.
I am glad when I receive the messages that both of my missing parcels have arrived now.
Jeff brings us into town, after we watch the squirrels and chipmunks that Jeff is feeding in the mornings.

Frostbite and I enjoy a big breakfast in town.

Afterward, I pick up my parcels and send my ice ace to Kennedy Meadows; I will need it for the Sierras. I also send away my microspikes but unfortunately forget the snow baskets for the trekking poles, so I'll keep carrying them.

Frostbite says goodbye; he will hike to the foot of Mt. Baden Powell this afternoon and start early tomorrow morning to tackle the snowy ascent and descent over the peak. I am sure I won't see him again; he hikes fast and covers a lot of kilometers per day.

By noon, I finish my chores in town, and I call Jeff to pick me up. At his place, I spend the rest of the day organizing to get some freeze-dried food sent to some places, and I try to get some writing done for the blog. Tomorrow morning, after 7 am, I will get a ride to the trailhead and will be out there for about 6 days until the next resupply.
