Saturday, June 15, 2024, Dutch Meadow mile 744,2 to Rock Creek, 28,32 km, total km 1082,89, 10:09 hrs
I catch a nice sunrise and start at 6:20 a.m. The tent site was just above 3000 meters in altitude. Today, I walk above 3400 meters and then down to 2900 meters again. It feels difficult. My energy is low. I listen to an audiobook all day to help me keep going. Today is longer than I would have liked. At one point, I see some cowboys and my first of many marmots. I reach the tent site after 28.3 km, at 4:30 p.m. It is directly at the first big river crossing that I will do tomorrow morning. There will be a few big crossings tomorrow. I hope they will not be too bad.
There is a bear box at the tent site to put stuff in that might not fit in the bear can.
