PCT, Day 68

Published on 8 July 2024 at 08:00

Friday, June 21, 2024, Lone Pine to South Lake Tahoe, Busses, zero day

I take a bus this morning at 6:10 am, going north. In Gardnerville, I have a few hours to wait for the last bus of the day to South Lake Tahoe. I buy some food, including a large jar of ice cream, to get some calories. At 5 pm, I arrive in South Lake Tahoe. Oh my, this is a big party/tourist town with "millions of people", cars, hotels, etc. At the hostel, I am advised to use earplugs since the parties go on until midnight.

I am glad I will be out of here tomorrow morning at 7. I need to get more calories, so I look for a place where I can get an ice cream milkshake. It turns out it is in a casino.

South Lake Tahoe is mostly part of California but one end of the town is in Nevada. The place that has the shake is a big hotel with casino.

I had never been in a place like that before!
